£16 million asterisk and Tavellier-free

In the coming months, the Grasov Rangers may face the most important period in the club’s recent history. Philippe Clement was fired last week and Gers has been searching for their fourth permanent manager since 2021.

Only two trophys won the trophy at that time, and it was obvious that this summer could be made or broken for light blue.

The recent news of 49 companies taking over has given people some hope that the club can enter the club with new ambitions, but such acquisitions may not take place until June at the earliest.

If that does happen, the new manager may gain some financial flexibility in the transfer market, allowing him to attract some players, which can see the club challenge the Celtics’ Premier League title.

Much depends on the identity of the new boss and his club’s plan to enter 2025/26, but what might be the potential start of the Wanderer XI for the next semester?

GK – Liam Kelly

Jack Butland gave away a goal against Motherwell, spilling a weak shot on the way to Luke Armstrong, who tucked the ball into the net.

This isn’t the first mistake of England’s Nine Guardians this season, and the new manager may decide to cash him this summer.

Liam Kelly may not be the most eye-catching name between the sticks, but he did play a role in the Celtic in early 2025, keeping a clean sheet in a 3-0 victory that looks like it’s been in the entire win.

Unless another Guardian is targeted, Kelly can use himself as the first choice for his next term.

RB – Nathan Patterson

Now is the time for James Tavernier to sell this summer. The captain has been poor throughout 2024/25 and the club will likely end in the season’s trophy – the sixth time happened during Tavernier’s tenure.

Nathan Patterson moved to Ibrox in the winter window, just two years after leaving Gers to reach a £16m deal, and he could be a major upgrade for the British defender.

Patterson has only played seven times this season for Everton due to injury, and maybe the next semester’s Wanderer loan could give him regular game time.

CB – John Souttar

John Souttar is arguably the most stable club performance before his injury in December, which ruled out a few weeks.

The Scots won 65% of his total matches this season in the Premier League this season, while over 0.1 times per game. If he can keep this type of form when he returns from injury, it will be hard for the new manager to replace Souttar, which is for sure.

CB – BAMO MEITE

Robin Propper should be sold this summer and target his replacement.

In January, Ibrox’s side reportedly showed interest in Bamo Meite, who was playing for Marseille.

He has barely featured on the Ligue 1 team and has since been on loan to Montpellier, but that should not stop GERS from taking another approach this summer.

Mett is only 23 years old and is at the best age for Rangers and to continue to develop.

LB – Jeff

It’s safe to say that Jeft hasn’t performed best lately, but there’s no doubt how talented he is.

Better unfolding his 1.2 successful dribble and 1.1 key pass proof, the Brazilian must be committed to his position and defensive attributes. If he does, the left-back has a bright future in the game.

CM – Nico Raskin

Nico Raskin turned his Ibrox career after he looked like he was going to be a squad member.

He has dominated midfield since returning from injury last year, which seems impressive for the likes of the Celtics and Tottenham Hotspur.

If Tavernier is sold, the captain should be passed to the Belgian star. This is a certainty.

CM – Lennon Miller

Light Blue has been in touch with Lennon Miller for a while, but if they are still interested, the club could spend about £4 million in service this summer.

The young man is still only 18 years old and is currently the smartest talent in Scotland and immediately entered the starting XI.

RW – Dario Orosio

After his impressive performance for Danish side Midtjylland, the Rangers are linked to Dario Osorio’s move, where he scored five times and received assists in all games.

With Vaclav Cerny returning to his father’s club this summer, it’s crucial to be successful next season. Osorio would be a good signature.

AM – Mohamed Diomande

Mohamed Diomande tends to operate in the center of the midfield with Raskin this semester, but perhaps his most effective position is behind the striker.

Indeed, he scored two points from this position in just eight appearances, creating six big opportunities in the process of Gers. He is a person who will only get better as he gets older.

LW – Oscar Cortez

Oscar Cortes has been plagued by injuries since he first joined the Rangers in January last year. He has played 15 times since then.

The young winger had already shown a genius flash when he was starring, but he now needs to keep running consistently in the starting XI. Under the leadership of the new manager, he may give him this opportunity.

ST – Hamza Igamane

Hamza Igamane is arguably one of the few bright sparks at the club this season. In his first season outside of Africa, 13 goals scored in his first season, he proved his ability to play at the highest level.

Due to this form, many clubs may show interest this summer, and the upcoming managers may attract the first big bid that appears.

However, making him the cornerstone of the attack could lead him on a great path.
