Houston hopes to change its fortunes in the 2025 campaign.
The Cougars were productive in their final season in the American Athletic Conference two seasons ago, going 36-23 and 17-6 in conference play. However, their first season in the Big 12 Conference didn't go as planned as they finished with 26 wins and a league record of just 7-21.
Part of last year's lack of success can be attributed to a lack of execution, but injuries have also taken their toll – especially on the mound.
