2025 Masters Expert Draft Pick, Sleeper Watching in Augusta

Rory McIlroy didn’t win every time. So why do you do it again, “the 2025 Masters Expert Draft Pick is about to win, the sleeper that watches on Augusta National”? Didn’t I learn it?

No, obviously not. This is probably McIlroy’s first major since 2014. The game was there – he kept touching his muscles while trying. The form is there – he won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and Players Championship. Mindset exists – He adopts Scottie Scheffler’s stable approach.

This should be a year.

But we’ve written it before.

2025 Masters Expert Draft Pick, Sleeper

Josh Berhow

win: Bryson DeChambeau, +2200. I found it very difficult not to end his major drought with Rory, but I let him prove it before choosing him. The cream always goes up to the top in the Masters – look at the value of the winners of the past decade – so I won’t be too cute here. Win me Bryson for his first green coat. He’s the best end there, and will take advantage of a field with two other favorites (Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele), but he still has the rust of touch due to injury. (ps – i real Like this week’s Collin Morikawa. )

Sleeper selection: Russell Henley, +5000. I like Joaquin Niemann here, but his odds don’t suggest he’s a deep sleeper. Instead, I will take Russell Henley, who is ranked seventh in the world, but without such difficulties. He always did a good job here (four first 25s in eight games) and just started playing the best major golf of his career – his three major top ten are all over the past two years, including his past two majors. He has performed well in the season and won a month ago. Why not Ras?

Adam Christensen

win: Collin Morikawa, +1600. It’s hard to choose among the trio of the highest Scheffler, McIlroy and Morikawa. The three have been playing great golf this year, but Morikawa has finished with the top three in odds despite not winning since October 2023. His golf has been good, and the golf gods ultimately tend to reward this level of game. Since his odds are the longest of the three, I think he is his favorite bet.

Sleeper selection: Sepp Straka, +8000. When looking at the master’s sleeper, I like to pick players I think could survive the “My back nine in Augusta” moment. Straka has competed in big competitions and has remained stable for the past two years. If he could miss the right spot and spend a hot week around the green and around the green, I think he could handle that last nine moment.

Dylan Dethier

win: Xander Schauffele, +2000. Have you forgotten this guy? Just because he suffered a little rib injury, or something? Have you forgotten that he has won two of the past three majors? He hasn’t completed outside the top 20 professionals Three years? Has he almost won this before? Look, the players’ 77-81 weekend must be a bit misleading. But that just means we have more value here. (Maybe in Lowry’s little 40-1, just for kicking.)

Sleeper selection: Why stop at a sleeper? I’ll give you a few mid-level guys, and I think they’ll end up in the top 10: Russell Henley (+5000) and Corey Conners (+6500). Continue scrolling to Daniel Berger (+11000), Patrick Reed (+9000), and Sergio Garcia (+9000). What if we were talking about Top-40 playback? Why not take a little Matt McCarthy (+40000) and [grins very, very wide] Mr. and Mrs. Fred? Happy hunting.

Alex Gelman

win: Ludvig Aberg, +1600. This is exactly what golf needs. Golf’s biggest young player wins on the biggest stage of golf. Ludvig put all the tools in a bag to win the green jacket. He also just joined Dylan Dethier in a “warm-up”. Give me Ludvig!

Sleeper selection: Jose Luis Ballest +100,000. Last summer, he won the American amateurs and found himself in the Masters. Amateurs have never won the Masters before. Why not kill it?

Jack Hirsh

win: Rory McIlroy: +650. This guy can’t win the Masters. He has won twice this year and I don’t think he even has a peak week yet. If he figures out the driver next week, he finally takes Master Monkey off his back. This is a choice that is full of inner self, not the heart, but what the heart wants.

Sleeper selection: Keegan Bradley: +11000. Are these odds a joke? Nonsense about the bad arguments about course history – he has made it to the top 25 over the past two years and he has already finished in the top 6 this year. I think Keegan debated in Augusta this year and made the Ryder Cup captain’s work harder.

Jessica Marksbury

win: Scottie Scheffler, +400. His putts showed encouraging signs of life in Houston, where he has so far posted his best result of the season (T2!), and didn’t stop him when Scheffler’s Flatstick lights up.

Sleeper selection: Corey Conners, +6500. Valero before his last three: 3, T6, T8. He has three top ten in seven appearances in Augusta National. Given Conners’ current form and past master’s resume, it feels like a good odds.

Maddi MacClurg

win: Ludvig Aberg, +1600. How can you not pay attention to Masters Ludvig Aberg? His elite ball hits make his approach both Tee and Greens OK, which is key to creating birdie opportunities in ANGC. And, don’t forget, Aberg came home almost wearing a green jacket last year, his first appearance at Augusta National.

Sleeper selection: Russell Henley, +5000. If he is now the seventh in the world, then real Sleeper selection? Russell Henley, who has four top ten, including a win at Bay Hill, is a solid choice to win a green coat. After nine appearances in the Masters, he gained a lot of local knowledge to get his footsteps on the court. He also has incredible touch vegetables that will come in handy while training in Augusta’s punitive green space bunker.

Kris McCormack

win: Jon Rahm, +1400. Ram won the Masters. He is a former champion, knows golf courses very well and has performed well this season. Although he didn’t get any points from the LIV event, he is indeed very satisfied with his current position in the game and is still ranked 26th in the official world golf golf rankings.

Nick Pistowski

win: Collin Morikawa, +1600. He will eventually win here, so why not this year? He would argue that because the player is a problem, because the player is a problem, but if his putter is playing.

Sleeper selection: Daniel Berger, +11000. Berger is in good shape. He is a good ball. He behaves very well. I’m inside.

Josh Schrock

win: Rory McIlroy, +650. If not now, then when? Rory is statistically the most complete golf game of his career. His decision to improve his course management has paid dividends so far, which should have cost him a lot in Augusta’s situation. I think he started one or two defenders on Sunday but conquered his master Devil and finished it. It’s time.

Sleeper selection: Justin Rose +11,000. Ross has been doing well in Augusta National. While he hasn’t performed well so far this year, the azalea has a way to get the old lion back and last roar.

win: Rory McIlroy, +650. “Golf God” does not exist, but if they do, they will realize that Rory is punished enough here. He is the same as ever. It’s time that finally happened.

Sleeper selection: Thomas Detry +18000. I don’t actually believe that sleeper can win this year. The chalk is too solid. But for a player with such potential, it’s a long odds.
