The U.S. Open champion will be crowned at Oakmont later today, but the only question left is who that is.
Sam Burns entered the final round under a quarter, leading Adam Scott and JJ Spaun and Viktor Hovland lurked three points. These are the only players who are cruel Oakmont belonging to the same standards.
The experienced Scott is the only top 10 player to win a major championship, 12 years ago in the 2013 Masters. However, it is Hofland’s only player in the world’s official golf golf rankings.
Burns remains a favorite of five-time PGA Tour champions, but he has underperformed in the final round of professional games. He entered the final round of last year’s Open Championship and finished second, but hit 80 shots at Royal Troon and finished the T31.

Whoever wins on Sunday night will take home a huge payday. USGA announced that the U.S. Open will offer $21.5 million in wallets and win $4.3 million in winners. This is related to last year’s U.S. Open, which won the largest number one check ever awarded by the Grand Slam. All of the top four won at least one million dollars and the runner-up received $2.322 million.
Scottie Scheffler won $3.42 million in the PGA Championship last month, and Rory McIlroy won $4.2 million in the Masters in April.
