Andrew Novak lost to Justin Thomas a week ago in the playoffs. But now he is in New Orleans and has another gun claiming to win the PGA Tour for the first time.
Novak and Ben Griffin have a 54-hole lead at the TPC Zurich Classic in Avondale, Louisiana, and the victory will be the first tour for both pros. This is Novak’s 100th career in the 90th game between the PGA Tour and Griffin.
Novak and Griffin (27) led three shots in Jake Knapp/Frankie Capan III and Ryo Hisatsune/Takumi Kanaya after shooting 61 on Saturday on four-ball.
“Three shots may be fine soon,” Novak said. “It’s great to have it, but we still have to do a great job.”
The other two teams are under 23, while the five under 22 are the duo of Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry, who won Zurich in last year’s playoffs.

“We want to compete with the best players and hope to end up testing ourselves and trying to finish the game,” Griffin said. “It means a lot [to win]. Obviously, when you win on the PGA Tour, it’s dangerous. We will focus on each individual shot and just try to execute. ”
