Cole Palmer is often a goal donation for Chelsea since moving £40 million from Manchester City in the summer of 2023.

The 22-year-old exceeded all expectations from Stamford Bridge, earning 39 assists and 21 assists in all games since his move.

During the same period, no other Blues player was able to compare with the key figures of Enzo Maresca – 20 of his contributions since the Italian appointment.

This format allowed the former Leicester City boss to lead the top four by 10 games and hopes to win Champions League football in West London again.

But if Maresca and Palmer have a good chance of achieving such a feat, if they get the service of an attacker who has previously been on the radar.

Chelsea hunted Alexander Isak last summer

After Maresca took power at Chelsea, it was obvious that he wanted to land on a new striker, with players of all kinds constantly touting the club.

Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney are two names that refuse to leave but miss the pair, and Alexander Isak throws another name into the hat at one stage.

The Blues reportedly aspired to have Newcastle United’s signature request for more than £100 million, but they can cut prices at a cheap price when windows are opened within months.

What appears is that if they are not eligible for the Champions League, then Hipies is willing to let him leave for 100 million euros (£83 million), and Maresca’s side needs to keep pace to prevent them from doing so – increasing their chances of landing the Swedes.

But despite his 22 goals in all 2024/25 games, it is safe to say that the club made a false appeal when it removed a player who managed to outperform his campaign this time.

Former Chelsea star, he surpassed Palmer and Isack

Although Palmer was the club’s leading amulet in 2024/25, it has been difficult to win performances in recent weeks, failing to register a goal or any help in his last nine games of all games.

But that’s not the same for winger Mohamed Salah.

The 32-year-old, once a Chelsea book, joined from Swiss side Basel in January 2014 to receive a £11m transfer – but his time on the bridge will be someone to forget.

In two and a half years, he will be limited to only 19 appearances from the Blues, scoring twice, and then sent to various loans for Fiorentina and Roma.

He will join the latter permanently for a fee of about £13m before moving to current Liverpool in 2017, second only to 400 appearances since his transfer – starting with his ability.

Roy Keane, who was named “world-class” by Roy Keane, scored 243 goals in Merseyside’s eight years and scored 32 in Anfield’s second best campaign.

However, his subsequent count was higher than Palmer and Isak, who could only register 14 and 22 respectively, indicating that the Egyptians were impressive in Arne’s slot.

His goal is aimed at winning another Premier League trophy from Liverpool, and his goal has helped to score 15 points for the Reds in the remaining matches of the season.

This form combined with their success must rub salt in the wounds of all the Bruce fans and prove what they would have if they had kept their wingers all these years ago.

However, Salah will always be at the Stamford Bridge, and Maresca undoubtedly hopes he has a quality player to help his top four ambitions.
