Touring this week, the Wissahickon course at Philadelphia Cricket Club will be in the Truist Championship. Sounds familiar, right? I know, not that much. We have some explanations to do here.

First, this is the sixth signing event of the season. This is a 72 player field without 36 holes cut. Everyone is here except last week’s champion Scottie Scheffler. Second, we usually prepare for the Wells Fargo Championships this week at the Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, but we have sponsorships. Wells Fargo is gone, Truist for at least the next seven years. Finally, Quail Hollow Club will host the PGA Championship for the second time since 2017, with the tour set to take place next week – so the Tour has chosen a new venue in the final track of the year ahead of the second big title of the season.

knew? OK I’m personally happy to see this “new” golf course because I believe we are enjoying it. This is a classic. It was built in 1922 and restored in 2013 by Keith Foster, a design by Aw Tillinghast who followed other firm steps such as Winged Foot, Baltrusol, Ridgewood Country Club and Bethpage Black. It’s a shorter route on 7,119 yards and 70 yards, but there are certainly some longer holes – five 4 yards or more yards, and in 215 yards or more holes, two par 3s. The fairway is curved, with medium width, roughness is average depth, average size, raised, multi-layered, curved bend vegetables are very fast, tricky, subtle rest time. The golf course features dramatic sand bunkers, with 118 of which are the most players have seen in a game this season.

The golf course has been rearranged this week, playing from members’ usual performances, thus creating a great looking cave. There is some moisture in the area and is expected on Friday. Predictions call for strong winds throughout the week in the 5-10 mph community. It all disappoints because it looks like it can make the course much easier to play than we wanted. Let’s take a look. The winning score proposition of Westgate Superbook in Las Vegas bets down/over 260.5, converting to 19.5 on par. Since then, it has been down to 259.5 (20.5 under par).

Didn’t see this course before the tour, which makes guessing games that need to be prioritized for what skills are needed this week. I also watched two main championship venues in 2022 at Country Club (US Open) and Southern Hills (PGA Championship).

I have five choices this week to win a complete victory. I also played two shorter options to get the top ten finishes, while the top 20’s three shots played three longer shots.

Patrick Cantlay (21-1)

Cantlay’s best work was done on the Bentgrass green. He won two wins at the Memorial in Ohio, won the Cave Valley in Maryland, and ranked third in the 2019 PGA Championship at Bethpage Black in New York, another type of Tillinghast Design. He hasn’t missed any advancements since May 2024, and in the past 24 rounds he’s ranked eighth in this field, eighth in T-shirts, seventh in SG, enters, ninth, gets a good drive, and gets 13th in close proximity to holes over 200 yards. He hasn’t won for a while, but it feels like a track in the cab of Cantlay.

Hideki Matsuyama (33-1)

Matsuyama’s name continues to surface as he checks the connected golf course this week. He ranked 16th in Bethpage in 2019, 17th in Winged’s foot at the 2020 U.S. Open, 15th in the Northern Northern Trust at the Ridgewood Country Club in 2018, and 4th in the 2016 PGA Championship in Baltrusol, all Tillinghast Designs are. He is also fourth in the 2022 U.S. Open country club, 10th in the 2013 U.S. Open Merion and 15th in the 2018 BMW Championship at Aronimink. Matsuyama has ranked No. 1 in this field in the past 24 rounds, second in Sand Saves. He ranks 18th in the regulations he obtained, with a hole at 175-200 yards close to tenth. In his final match, Matsuyama ranked second in the field at 21st in the Masters. Like Cantlay, Matsuyama feels doing a great job here this week.

Keegan Bradley (50-1)

Mr. Northeastern himself, right? Vermont native and St. John’s graduate Bradley won the 2018 BMW championship at Aronimink, finishing seventh in the country club in 2022 and second in TPC Potomac the same year. Based on his strengths in the game, he ranks in the top 17 in all categories in the field, with his irons and irons in the last 24 rounds. He ranks second in this field, close to the hole of 175-200 yards, while SG:Tee to Green is sixth. Is there something else in the soup here, Bradley is the captain of this year’s Ryder Cup, which is performed at the Bethpage Black this year? Can’t hurt.

Justin Rose (75-1)

Another person who thrives on classic golf courses and Bentgrass greens in the Northeast. Have you seen him shoot in the Masters a few weeks ago? Rosey has had such great success in his career, and it is in this type of environment. He won championships in Pebble Beach, Aronimink, Muirfield Village and Congress. His only major title was at the 2013 U.S. Open, about 12 miles on Merion’s road. Even at the age of 44, Ross was still one of the best matches in the game against the hardcore, ranking 12th on the beach and in the field for SG: Putting (Bentgrass) ranked 12th in the final 24 rounds. This is a common theme for all of our choices this week. Northeast, Tillinghast, Classic Courses, Weeds. Rose is suitable for bills, too.

Will Zalatoris (93-1)

Another person who makes sense on this golf course and this part of the country is Jason Day. However, he withdrew Tuesday morning. For those who follow up, you know we’re already on Quail Hollow next week. So while sticking to the WD theme, let’s go with Willy Z, who quit last week from CJ Cub Byron Nelson. He and the daytime experience injuries frequently, but I don’t mind supporting Zalatoris after a week off, as will the next day. Zalatoris has been money at the correlated courses, finishing runner-up at both The Country Club and at Southern Hills in 2022. At Tillinghast’s Winged Foot, Zalatoris finished sixth at the US Open in 2020. Over the last 24 rounds, he ranks 10th in this field for SG: Approach, 26th for Good Drives Gained, and is top-15 for Hole Proximity from 175-200+ yards.
