5 players that the new ranger boss must sell

Barry Ferguson finally had a chance to take power in the Glasgow Rangers, though only on the temporary basis.

His management record still has many shortcomings. In his last spell against Alloa Athletic, he won only 27.3%.

After his first win as interim boss, Ferruson’s winning rate in the Rangers now dropped to 50% as two first-half goals complicated the pain of Ibrox’s faithfulness as they fell 16 points behind after their recent home defeat against Motherwell.

Ferguson won 15 major honors plus the light blue captain of the European FEFA Cup final, and his behind-the-scenes staff consisting of Billy Dodds, Allan McGregor and Neil McCann, all knowing the match and victory needed on the Ibrox side.

Patrick Stewart and the rest of the board will now work hard to find a suitable replacement for Philippe Clement before the 2025/26 season after the Belgian’s recent departure.

5 Ranger Young Man Barry Ferguson is now available for release in Ibrox

With Ferguson replacing Philippe Clement, he could turn to the club’s youth team as the Rangers hope to save their abilities from the season.

The right date can make the club future or ruin the club. After years of underperforming and allowing the Celtics to dominate, the GERS needs to make a major change.

The new manager must start with the squad. While no major turmoil is needed, it has to move this summer, whether they fail to impress this season or just run out of their salary bills with little success on the court.

Here we list five players who should be in the chopping block when the new owner arrives in the popular seats in Ferguson.

1

James Tavernier

Paul-nsio-Tavernier Cavalry

James Tavernier’s goal record – for the defenders anyway – is lofty for the Ibrox.

In 500 club competitions, the right back scored impressive goals while also 140 assists.

This is the target contribution per 1.8 matches. There is no doubt how much influence he had in the last third, but in terms of trophy, there is no comparison.

Under Tavernier’s captain, the Gers won the Scottish Premier League title, plus a League Cup and Scottish Cup. This season, he failed to inspire any silverware from the club while seeing the team eliminated from the Scottish Cup by Level 2 Queens Park.

This summer, earning £30,000 a week must mark the end of the British.

2

Kieran Dowell

Kieran Dowell has only participated in the light blue 32 times since joining the free transfer in the summer of 2023.

In the Premier League for Norwich City and Everton, Dewell, who won the U20 World Cup in 2017, certainly looked like a decent signing.

However, the 27-year-old failed to leave a lasting impression on Michael Beale and Clement, with only two attempts on Gers.

During the winter transfer window, he was loaned to Birmingham City to secure some game time. So far, he seems to be enjoying the challenge on the league side as they aim to bring the promotion back to the second level.

His salary of £16,000 per week is 11th in the first roster. The new manager should definitely hope to sell him this summer.

3

Ben Davis

Giovanni van Bronckhorst seeks improvement after reaching the Europa League final in 2022.

Ben Davies is another signing to pay £4m from Liverpool as the Dutch hopes to strengthen his defensive choices.

Davies mainly competed in the UK championship and struggled during his virgin season at Ibrox, even making a mistake in a major old company clash in April 2023, even called the “poor man” by former Gers forward Kenny Miller.

Like Doyle, the centre-back is borrowing time with Birmingham and enjoying the enjoyment of the South.

Hopefully he can continue these great performances as this will lead to more clubs showing interest in him in the summer transfer window, when new bosses can be cashed out.

4

Rabbi Matondo

During the winter transfer window, another player on loan by Clement. Rabbi Matondo is a player who can produce moments of glory.

In August 2023, outstanding efforts were made against PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League qualifiers. In August 2023, he was elsewhere, his outstanding long-range curling against the Celtics will score in memorials at the last minute of last April.

Despite these brief sparks, Matondo still can’t maintain enough consistency to stand out at Ibrox.

After the first six months of the injured 2024/25 season, Clement allowed the winger to join the German second-tier club Hannover No. 96 until the end of the campaign.

Usually, he screams very hard when his debut, and in his parents’ club, several others will be able to uninstall the Welshman when appointing a new manager.

Taking him forward in the summer will allow the new boss to reduce his salary bill, considering he earns £23,000 a week at Ibrox.

5

Robin Propper

Robin Propper is the only player on the roster to be signed by Clement, but the transfer is not made as expected.

After making over 100 appearances for FC Twente and being captained for some time, he seems to be able to fill the gap left by outgoing Connor Goldson.

So far, the Dutch have played 37 games for Light Blue this semester. He may have scored against the Celtics and showed Clement’s solidity, but his overall performance didn’t meet the standards the club needed.

He certainly struggled with the physical nature of Scottish football, caught by opposition attackers many times and they shrugged him.

In 23 league games, Propper only retained five clean sheets when starting and playing the full game, losing 8.9 times per game as part of the defense.

During the opening week of the 2025/26 season, he will be at least 32 years old and the new manager may want to continue him to recruit a young young man with shelf life and improved opportunities.

No matter what happens this summer, the wanderer needs to get the next date location. If that is not the case, the Celtics will continue to disappear from financial and successful aspects.
