Memorial Park is one of the city’s five municipal courses.

Houston, we have a game. Texas Children’s Houston is open. It is currently underway at Memorial Park Golf Course, a Tom Doak Muni, one of the best values in Lone Star State. This is essential when tourism professionals are not taking up tees. Meanwhile, here are six of the highest public access alternatives in the region.
Houston Golf Club
It was the long-time host of the tournament before Houston opened Memorial Park. It is a partially private club with two courses, one of which (member courses) is open – you guessed it – members and their guests. However, the tournament course (also hosted by Liv Golf Houston) welcomes the outside competition in the collaboration of Rees Jones-David Toms, known for its impeccable conditions. This is a country club experience, minus the enlightenment fee.
Visit 18 Golf
The concept of the “copy” course has been replicated across the country. But Tour 18 is a particularly commendable example of the form. The first hole pays tribute to the 18th place in Sans Lighthouse. The second time was a faithful tribute to Bay Hill’s sixth place. Get there from there, with iconic holes such as 5-pole 5-pole 14 perched on a pebble beach and TPC Sawgrass’ Island Green 17. There was even a trip around Amen Corner, without all the dia rankings, but there are many other specifications of locations.
Dark Horse Golf Club
Peter Jacobsen and Jim Hardy designed 18 Halls in the well-maintained city’s northwest facility. The north and south were stoutly tested, with water hazards having complex substances in many holes and tilted over 7,000 yards. But the South is slightly tough, and in many more memorable eyes, the closed stretches pass through the former mine, which has been reshaped into a dramatic wetland.
Wild Golf Club in Lake Jackson
Driving about 45 minutes south of the city, you can reward yourself in a round on this sleeper, where a closed road cuts down a path to Sylvan, leading to a cottage-like clubhouse, and a wetland character affluent route, spliced by streams and routed.
Gus Wortham Golf Course
Like Memorial Park, this is a Muni, although it occupies a location for a pristine Houston Country Club more than a century ago. Unlike many courses in the area, Gus Portham works with significant elevation changes. Back on the day, people like Ted Ray and Harry Vardon held an exhibition here. Recently, architect Baxter Spann rebuilt green and bunkers, among other features.
