Because it’s an offseason, it’s definitely been a busy time for the Chicago Blackhawks over the past few days. It seems that the organization has finally come to somewhere by looking for a head coach. They also have some players at the World Championships, and others are cleaning lockers after Rockford Icehogs’ playoff run. Meanwhile, the Blackhawks announced their centenary season and all the hoopla that followed. Oh, there is an old friend in town. There are a lot of unpacking, so let’s get to know the latest news and rumors!
The Blackhawks’ Centennial Celebration
Not only should the Blackhawks watch better and more fun next season, but they will also celebrate their centenary year in the upcoming 2025-26 campaign. The Blackhawks announced in a press release that the celebration will be “a year-long recognition that will jointly weave a century of traditional traditions and a strong commitment to future excellence and growth of the game.”

Yes, I said shake my head! The NHL will release a full schedule of events shortly after the release of the schedule later this summer. The Blackhawks have notoriously brought great experiences to fans at the United Center, so I’m sure they have a lot of fun at the Centennial Celebration.
The Blackhawks at the World Championships
Many Blackhawks players and some staff are currently participating in the IIHF World Championships, which will be held in Stockholm, Sweden and Elnig, Denmark from May 9 to May 25. As of May 17, let’s board the plane quickly.
Swedish team: Arvid Soderblom & Anders Sorensen
Soderblom is a goalkeeper for Sweden, and Anders Sorensen serves as assistant coach. Unfortunately, Soderblom is the third networker behind Jacob Markstrom of the New Jersey Devils and Flyers’ Samuel Ersson in Philadelphia, so he hasn’t competed yet.
But the good news is that Sweden is currently 6-0 in the game, with the leader in Group A and the leader in the entire game, 18 points. As the game progresses, this team will be a team worthy of attention.
Germany: Lukas Reichel
Reichel ended his involvement after only three games with injuries. According to athletic Scott Powers, the injury is not serious and should not interfere with his offseason and training camp in September.

In his three games, Reichel recorded one goal and three assists and was named the player in the match in a 6-1 victory over Hungary on May 10.
Finland team: Teuvo Teravainen
Teravainen’s game against Finland is quite enjoyable. In five games, the 30-year-old scored goals and eight assists! Teravainen is a organizer and gamer for six assistants in a 9-1 victory over Slovenia on May 15, all of which are the main breeds.
Finland is currently ranked third in Group A, behind Sweden and Canada.
Team USA: Frank Nazar, Alex Vlasic, Kevin Dean
Nazar and Vlasic are both on the USA Team and are contributing to a strong American team, while Blackhawks assistant coach Dean also serves as assistant coach in the tournament.

In five games, Nazar has three goals and three assists, while centering on the third line. In a 6-0 victory over Hungary on May 11, he received the player in the match honors and had two goals and an assist.
VLASIC is playing for the second defensive pairing, and has contributed to both assistants so far. Team USA is currently ranked third in Group B, behind Switzerland and then the Czech Republic.
Korchinski talks about the culture of Icehogs
Chicago’s AHL branch team Rockford Icehogs was recently defeated by Admiral Milwaukee in the second round of the playoffs. This is a disappointing result as the Icehogs won the first two games of the series before three straight games. To increase the insult of injury, the last game has been succumbing in overtime.
But it was a great experience for young prospects who were at the forefront of the NHL regulars. Defensive Kevin Korchinski tells the story of their culture as Icehogs and the tights they have become.

As Korchinski said, these guys are good friends. They push each other and are very happy for each other’s success. This is the culture that integrates into the Black Hawk with the Youth Movement. It’s a good thing to see.

Some of the names worth paying attention to in the training camp in the group include defensemen Korchinski, Artyom Levshunov, Ethan Del Mastro and Nolan Allan. In the forwards, Colton Dach and Sam Savoie may bid for the NHL position.
Blackhawks coach search is coming to an end?
Ah, it’s the meat of the matter; who will be appointed as the head coach of the Blackhawks? It’s a crazy process, so let’s start from scratch. We know that despite interviewing the Blackhawks’ head coach, Denver head coach David Carr decided to stay in Denver. Mike Sullivan works with the New Jersey Devils. Rick Tocchet was hired by the Vancouver Canucks for Philadelphia Flyer and Adam Foote, although neither is a formal candidate with the Blackhawks.
Meanwhile, it was finally leaked on May 15 (May 15) that Blackhawks general manager Kyle Davidson has met with former Detroit Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill for 7 years (2015-2022). Could this be that guy?

While this may not be a sexy hire, Blashill does check out many boxes. He has previous experience in the NHL and a history of working with young players. Of course, he doesn’t have the best record in Detroit (204-261-72), but he also rarely works there.
With emerging young talent and some lucrative offseason signings, the Blackhawks could be the more competitive team next season. If hired, Blashill’s second field has a more successful potential than his first field.

Duncan Keith in town
As always, I like to end with a fun attitude. Blackhawk legend Duncan Keith was recently in town, presumably to help announce the Blackhawks’ centenary celebration. Keith visited with our friends at Chgo Studios to provide fans with treasure hunts and throw out the first court in the Cubs game.
