The Muskegon Lumberjacks won their first ever American Hockey League (USHL) Clark Cup with a 4-3 overtime victory Tuesday night. Jack Christ joined the game in Game 5 of the winner’s full game, winning a hat-trick, including winning goals after only two playoff goals entered the game.
Muskegon Netminder Shika Gadzhiev once again scored a great performance from the network, scoring 34 saves in another strong performance, and doing well on the count.
Game review
Muskegan’s Tynan Lawrence was a Boston University effort to get things started, and the perfect pass for Miami University was David’s perfect pass, once Waterloo’s network network Carter Caster Casey, putting Jacks on a quick 1-0 lead.
Muskegon played another game before the first half break, leading 2-0 after successfully killing the field delayed fine. Minnesota Commissioner Jack Christ found the net from his haste and took Casey’s right shoulder.
The second earlier, Brady vendor drove wide, but the puck popped up a lucky bounce off the board and landed on the videotape of Brendan McMoro. McMorrow buried it, reduced the deficit and had no chance to leave Muskegon Netminder Shika Gadzhhiev.

Muskegon Netminder Shika Gadzhiev passed 26 Blackhawks shooting tests over two periods, while Muskegon responded only 16 times.
Christ opened the third time again, hitting again, and what Casey couldn’t control was the loose rebound. The puck bounced from his chest, where Christ cleaned it up, restoring Muskegan to the first 3-2.
Waterloo did not retreat. With eight minutes left in regulation, Hunter Ramos buried Chase Jette’s perfect cross-ice feed to tie the score 3-3.
In the last few minutes, neither team could break through, playing for the third consecutive overtime in Game 5.
Jack Christ finished his hat trick and delivered the lumberjack’s first Clark Cup, and he shot Carter Casey with his wrist to win everything.
“Our guys were able to stick with it, it was a great series. All of these guys, man, this is for them, I’m happy about it.”
The Miami Redhawks’ two orders had an impact on Tuesday night – Shika Gadzhiev threw 34 in 37 while David replies scored 10 goals and 4 goals and 4 assists (14 points) in this year’s playoffs.

Gadzhiev scored all three lumberjacks in the series and bounced strong after being eliminated early in the first game. He finished the playoffs with an 8-1 record with an average of 2.03 goals (GAA) and a 0.935 percentage savings (SV%).
The four future Redhawks of the series competed for Waterloo with Bradley Walker and Michael Phelan, while Gadzhiev and deputy were for Muskegon.
Tynan Lawrence received Clark Cup Playoff MVP honors. The 2026 NHL Draft Prospectus brings together a strong playoffs, scoring 18 goals and 10 assists in 14 playoff games, with 18 points.
This five-time Clarke Cup final is a perfect example of USHL hockey – as the series progresses, checking, tense defense and goals get harder. This is a big exposure for the league, especially the frequency of being masked by the Canadian Hockey League (CHL).
