Every year, thousands of players enter their current deal ends – some are in high regard and others extend over the football pyramid.

This opens up opportunities for these players to keep moving forward in the summer, whether they can’t agree on new terms or just get many stars for free at the end of their current club.

Here we look at some of the best players who may be looking for new clubs for 2025/26.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin

It seems Dominic Calvert-Lewin is heading towards the end of his Everton career, with several high-profile clubs expected to make an offer to secure his signature.

Since Monaco was one of the people interested in the British striker in January, the Toffees no longer asked to pay for Calvert-Lewin, they can sell it for free.

There are speculations that Newcastle United is an interested club and Calvert-Lewin intends to leave time in Merseyside.

Many believe Lille allowed star forward Jonathan David’s contract to collapse, meaning they could lose a lot of transfer fees.

There seems to be no shortage of forward quotes. Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth claimed in January that the two sides were quotes, and four Premier League teams reportedly were keen to reach a deal with David before next season.

The Welshman joined the Lily White from Swansea City in 2014, becoming one of the first to join former manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Leeds United and Burnley have both been linked to the defender lately, so Davis may end up staying in the Premier League.

Angel Gomes is another player who will leave Lille with teammate Jonathan David in the summer. The midfielder made his debut in England in September, joining the French apparel from Manchester United in 2020 with a free transfer and will be at a loss again.

His old club is one of those interested in his signature, and Totterham Hotspur will hope that Champions League football’s commitment will support them.

This may surprise many when Leroy Sané switched Manchester City to Bayern Munich, especially when Pep Guardiola Era is in full swing, but the Germans have been a major player for the Bavarians.

Indeed, he ended the 2024/25 season with 116 goals – 61 goals and 55 assists in 220 games since joining – a goal rate per 1.9 games is a goal-scoring rate, which is a spectacular record.
