Leeds holds talks to sign new £4m Champions League “verification”

Leeds United has now made a summer deal for a “wonderful” player, and he “proves” himself in the Champions League, a report said.

Illan Meslier’s wrong catalog ended up spending Leeds pursuing promotion, who won a 100-point run against Plymouth Argyle 2-1 on the final day, and he scored 100 on the final day, but still seemed to be considering replacing the Frenchman.

Karl Darlow played in the final seven games of the championship game, and the 34-year-old kept four clean sheets, but given his age, Daniel Farke may be keen to attract young goalkeepers to replace Meslier.

Sam Johnstone of Wolverhampton Rangers is one of the goals, and a Preston-born shooter might be an attractive option given his experience in the Premier League, but now there is a suggestion that a champion champion might risk more of an unknown amount.

According to a report from Germany (via Leeds United News), Leeds is one of many clubs that now signs Bayern Munich goalkeeper Daniel Peretz in negotiations, who left the German club for £4 million less than two years ago.

The 6-foot-3 Colossus has only played a sporadic role since arriving at Allianz Arena, meaning he can move this summer, and the loan deal could be paid given that he still retains hope of becoming Bayern’s top goalkeeper.

Whites will face competition for Israeli signatures, but Burnley and Henoa are also sharp with PSV Eindhoven, who are said to be in extreme positions on the side of Eredivisie.

“Wonderful” Peretz may be a more detailed upgrade

No wonder Leeds intends to attract new goalkeepers this summer, and while they may have gotten rid of Meslier’s mistakes at championship level, their Premier League status is questionable if the goalkeeper makes a similar mistake next season.

Bayern Munich goalkeeper Daniel Peretz and Manuel Neuer

TeamTalk’s James Marshment criticized the 25-year-old for another “high-profile Clanger” against Hull City in January, and then came from a major late error that left Farke’s two-pointer against Sunderland in October.

Peretz, on the other hand, was praised by Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl, who said: “Daniel Peretz is a great backup. He was proven to be in the Bundesliga in the Cup and is now in the Champions League. He also performed well for the Israeli national team against Belgium and France.

That being said, the 24-year-old found it difficult to play in Bayern, with only five senior appearances in the 2024-25 season, so he may need to leave this summer’s career, which is obvious that Leeds will need to replace Meslier.
