Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is seriously considering leaving the club next week to join Saudi professional league side Al-Hilal, a deal that will make him earn £700,000 a week.
The 30-year-old representative recently met with Al-Hilal officials for further discussions, with the transfer fee believed to be above £80 million.
The move could also allow Fernandes to play in the upcoming club World Cup, where Al-Hilal will face Real Madrid, Red Bull Salzburg and Pachuca on the group stage.
Fernandes has not yet given a clear answer to his future in Manchester United’s playoffs in Asia, although he continues to be captaining the court.
While manager Ruben Amorim has publicly expressed his desire to retain his amulet, who was crowned by the club’s Player of the Year for the fourth time this season, he also sees the proposed deal as an opportunity to reshape the team.
“We talked about this time many times,” Amorim said.

“You can see it through his performance, his leadership and passion for the game. In tough times, Bruno is the responsible person. He should do that because he is the captain.”
Fernandes signed a contract last summer until 2027, and he will receive a three-year contract worth £200 million.
The Portuguese organizer was Manchester United’s top scorer last season, with 19 goals, and many fans believe the club may face relegation without his influence.
However, some, including former captain Roy Keane, are critical of Fernandes, who sees a lack of discipline as part of Manchester United’s ongoing struggle.
Currently, Fernandez is expected to play a role in a friendly match against Hong Kong on Friday, but a deal can be quickly achieved with al-hilal, which has given the Portuguese International team a deadline for its decision.
