Lazio brings back former Chelsea manager Sarri

Lazio brought Maurizio Sarri back to the manager – a year after resigning.

Sarri, 66, resigned from coach Lazio in March 2024 after nearly three years in charge.

Lazio finished seventh in Serie A in 2023-24 and second last season. Sarri replaced Marco Baroni.

“Maurizio Sarri returns home. His return is a choice of heart, belief and vision,” Club President Claudio Lotito said in a statement.

“With him, we want to restore a broken path and realize that we can bring back our passion, identity and ambition together. Welcome back to your family commander.”

Sarri manages a large number of clubs and spends a year in charge of Chelsea – winning the Europa League in 2019.

He won Serie A with Juventus in 2020.
