Wolf takes the “best” goal in EFL

In Matheus Cunha leaving Wolverhampton Wanderers, it seems another high-profile star will leave Molineux this summer. Manchester City is believed to be taking action for Algeria’s left-back Rayan Ait-nouri in an effort to improve their defensive quality after a tough campaign.

Fabrizio Romano reported on Monday that the defense lawyer “has said yes” about the move to East Manchester, and that the transfer negotiations will “progress” in the coming days.

He will be a huge loss to old gold. Last semester, Ait-Nouri competed in 37 Premier League games, scored four times and received seven assists.

But if they are losing a 23-year-old this summer, Molinuex may have been in line.

The wolf is looking for a defender

There is no doubt that the Wolves’ amulet and the key figure of Vitor Pereira lost Ait-Nouri, which would be a huge loss for the West Midlands side. If they do lose him, the wolf can turn to a new outfit.

A report from Sky Sports on Monday night showed that the old gold was “interested” in Sunderland’s Trai Hume. However, they will face competition from Premier League team Everton, as well as the name of La Liga.

This summer, the price of the defender is unclear. Hume has two years left for the current contract at Bright Stadium, and they can extend his deal for one year.

They reportedly wanted £10 million last summer, but a year later, maybe that fee will increase.

Why is Hume a good signing

Hume is a key part of Sunderland’s success in the 2024/25 campaign. The Black Cats return to the Premier League is nearly a decade away from the top flight, and the Houme plays an important role in the return.

In all games, Hume played in 48 games, scored 3 goals and scored 6 assists. He was part of the Regis Le Bris side, which indicated he played for 4230 minutes.

Last semester, Hume missed only two games in the championship game. One of them was a disastrous run of five straight losses, ending the season, defeating Blackburn 1-0. This undoubtedly adds interesting dynamics to the old Golden Squad. Pereira can choose to be a touchline hug like Ait-nouri, or he can play his defender, hoping for an overload midfielder.

Either way, Sunderland’s No. 32 has the quality of performing well in the Premier League. In fact, he was once described by former Sunderland interim manager Mike Dodds as the “best” defender in the championship game:

Statistics from last season certainly show why Dodes once said that. Compared to other defenders in the second floor, Hume’s numbers on FBREF are model. For example, he averaged 3.87 tackles and interceptions and 1.39 key passes per game, putting him in the top 13% and the top 9% of the bride, respectively.

Although not from trade left and right, Hume may be an excellent replacement for Ait-nouri. It is undeniable how much he will lose to San Francisco, but Hume has the attributes and tactical flexibility to become the successor of his dream.

They will face a battle to sign him this summer, but if Wolves do win the 23-year-old’s autograph match, he could be a great addition to Pereira’s roster.
