The Oilers opened the score for only 66 seconds in Leon Draisaitl’s game. Goalkeeper Sergei Bobrovsky blocked Jake Walman’s point, but Draisaitl slammed the rebound and buried it in Game 8 of the playoffs.

The Panthers then tied the game with 9:11 left in the opening frame. Sam Bennett deflected Carter Verhaeghe’s traffic and past goalkeeper Stuart Skinner. Edmonton challenged the goalkeeper’s call for intervention, but it stood up, which left them with a penalty kill, and the Panthers scored in the subsequent game of power. Nate Schmidt’s cross-slit pass found Brad Marchand, who undoubtedly defeated a huge cyberman. Despite being 2-1 behind, the Oilers still have a 14-7 shooting advantage.
