How Callaway helps adaptive golfer Chaz Bowker

For adaptive golfer Chaz Bowker, his career has been on the rise after completing the T14 and T2 overall in the 2024 U.S. Adaptive Open, thanks to a recent partnership with Callaway Golf.

Bowker sat with host Johnny Wunder this week’s episode of Golf and his journey through adaptive golf and his collaboration with Callaway, which was announced in April.

Wunder met Bowker while working at Callaway, and Bowker was introduced to the brand.

“I’m so happy to be paired with them and provide awareness for adaptive golf,” said Bowker. “Honestly, I think it might be that night I’ve seen you and within that week I started talking to everyone in Callaway and they just wanted to start working with me. It’s set in stone since then.”

As part of his role as Callaway Ambassador, Bowker worked with the team at the Ely Callaway Performance Center (ECPC) in Carlsbad, California to dial in his setup.

“It’s like a dream come true, being able to see a facility like this and seeing how the ball is made, how the clubs are made, how the clubs are made, testing and all of that,” Bowk said. “Then, once you go down the ECPC and have the right time, it’s exciting because at first they saw the clubs I’m playing, they went, ‘Who did it?’ I said, “I did it.” ”

“We’re working on it. I’ve found a way to play games and that’s how I’m doing that. The guy from the tourism department said, let’s build something right.”

Then the bag starts using 5 wood, 7 wood starts to get interesting, and then use 5 hybrid instead of 5 iron. Bowker replaced 6 irons, but installed for Callaway Elyte 11 wood.

“My 5 and 6 had a problem hitting the ball, so we found a way to lift the ball,” said Bowker. “I think it was the right move, so we did it.”
