German Stars to become fifth member of the £100 million club and win record-breaking deal

Liverpool is expected to close the signing of German striker Florian Wirtz after Premier League champions struck a deal with Bayer Leverkusen, which includes add-ons.

The move will allow Liverpool to break the UK transfer record for Wirtz, who has previously been linked to Manchester City and Bayern Munich.

Wirtz has scored more than 30 goals in each of each of the last two seasons. When Leverkusen won the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal Double and reached the Europa League final, he scored 37 in 2023-24, where he failed, and Atlanta marked their only loss this season.

The Ecuadorian performed well in the 2022-23 Seagulls, but initially tried to impress when he arrived at Stamford Bridge.
