Some of the biggest stars of the PGA Tour are hunting after a round of the TPC River Highlands. And, it seems they both enjoyed affluent birdie opportunities this week after suffering from the U.S. Open in Oakmont.

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler led the way with Austin Eckroat with a low of 62 shots. Scheffler is looking for his fourth win at Connecticut this season, as well as his second-game winning streak to the Travelers Championship.

Rory McIlroy, who has struggled since winning the Masters, turned his game around and shot 64 in the first round, keeping him ahead with our Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley and Wyndham Clark, who have caused damage to Oakmont’s locker.

Newly-founded U.S. Open champion JJ Spaun has continued his hot steak since last week, settling in one third.

But in the second round on Friday, anything could happen.
