Liverpool is now willing to sell more than £50m stars because he pays the same salary as Wirtz

Liverpool reportedly signed a £200,000 contract to sign Florian Wirtz’s UK record of £16 million, and Liverpool is now willing to sell one of their star men because he demands a match for that salary.

When the rumor initially appeared in a battle with Bayern Munich and Manchester City for Wirtz’s signature, not many gave Liverpool a chance, but the German idea was quickly made up, and football’s latest public secrets quickly stole the headlines. After Anfield’s first season, with the Premier League champion’s medal on his neck, it’s now arguably the best No. 10 that European football can offer.

Wirtz isn’t cheap, but his talent is seldom capable of the market today, and if he copied Bayer Leverkusen’s figures in his time at Anfield, that record-breaking label would soon become worth it.

It’s no surprise that Liverpool decided to make their new signing one of their highest earners, with reports showing that he will make about £200,000 a week in Merseyside, a better salary for only Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk on the Reds’ salary bill.

After putting pen and paper on paper, Wirtz explained his move – telling Liverpool’s official media channels: “I just think that’s the right point for the next step in my career, of course I want to go to a club from the top three in the world, and I think Liverpool is one of them.”

Despite spending a lot of money on the new signing, it seems Liverpool is not ready to do so to maintain a star defender this summer.

Richard Hughes and Liverpool are now willing to sell Ibrahima Konate this summer for about €60 million (£51 million) as he demands a raise to £20,000 at Anfield, according to the Offside report.

With only one year left for the Frenchman’s current deal, the Reds are eager to avoid repeating Trent Alexander-Arnold’s exit as a free agent and reportedly set the contract deadline to end the summer.

Only the fuel added to Konate’s current position is the report said Liverpool now hopes to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace this summer. Despite the standpoint of things, it seems that the Palaceman will replace Jarrel Quansah, bound by Leverkusen, and there is no doubt that the Reds will be well aware that he can solve their konate problem, too.

If this happens, whether Guehi can really match the quality of Konate will be a big question. This is certainly a bold move for everyone involved in Anfield.
