Arsenal is trying to lure Christian Norgard to Emirates in place of Thomas Party.
Multiple reports this morning suggested that Mikel Arteta viewed Captain Brentford as an experienced option if the party chooses not to sign a new deal.
Partey’s contract expires in five days and now seems unlikely to renew, but will seek new opportunities abroad.
If Garner International follows Giorgio out of North London, it creates a gap that needs to be filled, even if Arsenal does sign Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, as expected.

Norgard has been an impressive performance for Brentford since joining Florence in 2019, helping the club join the Premier League, establishing themselves as a regular first-half champion under Thomas Frank.
But Frank set out for Totterham could be a new era at GTECH Community Stadium and Brentford, and would likely be willing to cash in on the 31-year-old if Arsenal decides to make a formal bid of about £10m.
Frank might want Norgard, too
Frank may also think Norgaard is a perfect fit for the Spurs who work with Denmark and Brondby.
However, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is unlikely to approve players in his 30s, and the club prefers to target younger players.
Norgaard made 122 Premier League appearances for Brentford, scoring 11 goals and adding 12 assists.
