Borussia Dortmund manager Niko Kovac admitted that his team was “happy” after he entered the club’s World Cup knockout after his team beat South Korean club Ulsan 1-0.
Dortmund entered the game, knowing a key point that could safely lead to the last 16 games, while Kovac’s team had a hard work on their otherwise banished opponents, but their chances of exporting were small and rarely seemed like a real possibility.
Daniel Svensson grabbed the only goal of the game in 36 minutes, which might have been even more so if it weren’t for the wasteful ending and Jo Hyeon-woo’s inspiring performance in Ulsan’s goal.

The result ensured that the German club surpassed Fluminin, who started pole position but was won by Mamelodi Sundowns to the Fop Flop Flove.
Dortmund will now meet with the runner-up in Group E next week, which could be Inter, River Plate or Monterrey.
“We want to be in the group stage and we’re very happy,” Kovak said.
“It’s great for the heat, especially in the first half. We played in the second half. Most importantly, Fluminense and we should make progress.”
“We dominated the first half and I think the Xgoals numbers are in three areas. For those temperatures, that’s OK. Of course, we’ve been unfolding for a while and ready.
“We’ve been nearly a week and we won’t play until Tuesday, so we’re not going to play in July and June.”
