Mammoth gets Peter Card from Sabre, signed for 5 years extension – Hockey Writer – Utah Mammoth

Just as fans were ready to go to bed, Utah Mammoth switched a deal with Buffalo Sabers. Sabre trades John-Jason “JJ” Peterka to the Mammoth in exchange for Michael Kesselring and Josh Doan.

Either way, there is no draft pick, nor is there a salary for this deal. In addition to the deal, it was revealed that the Mammoth has agreed to a five-year extension with Peterka, worth $7.7 million a year.

Peterka, 23, has scored 27 goals in 77 games with the Sabers over the past season and added 41 assists in 77 games. He scored 67 goals throughout his career and added 150 points to 150 in 238 games, with an average of 0.63 points.

Doan is also 23 years old and scored 28 points in 62 games with the Mammoth. Kesselring, 25, scored seven goals in 82 games last season and added 22 assists in 82 games. He scored 12 goals throughout his career and added 41 assists in 156 games, scoring 53 points and an average of 0.34 points.

The deal has not been announced by any team, but announcements from both parties are expected to be released on Thursday morning (June 26).
