Birmingham has now ‘deal’ to sign the 28-year-old attack star

Reporter Ben Jacobs said Birmingham City “reached an agreement” with the once hailed “world-class” players’ club.

Birmingham Summer Agenda Attacker

The Blues now know the full fixture for next season as they advance from League One to champion and started the campaign through a family clash with Ipswich Town, which would be a big early test.

Excitement is picking up before Birmingham returns to the second floor of British football, but Chris Davies will know that the new signing is much needed so that his team can compete at the top of the table, not at the bottom of the table.

Attackers appear to be a current priority at the moment, with former Celtic ace Kyogo Furuhashi linked to the move to St Andrew, who left the Scottish Premier League giants, who joined the Ligue 1 Side Rennes in January.

Holstein Kiel attacker Sutho Machino is also seen as a strong choice for Birmingham as they hope to provide healthy competition for star forward Jay Stansfield next season. The 25-year-old has scored 11 goals in 23 Bundesliga starts in 2024/25, highlighting that he might be an exciting signing.

Now, according to Jacobs xBirmingham and Al-ettifaq “reached an agreement” with Al-ettifaq in a free transfer.

Assuming that move goes on, it feels like an active signing in Birmingham, especially since they are Gray’s junior club, where the 28-year-old made 78 appearances at the beginning of his high school career.

Since then, the wingers have continued to enjoy a great career, appearing 200 times in the Premier League and even won the championship with Leicester City in 2015/16, which remains one of the greatest achievements in British football history.

At 28, it wasn’t that the Blues signed a player above themselves, and Jamaica International still has a lot to offer in his career and he’ll certainly be eager to prove his worth in his former club.

Gray has such natural abilities that Ian Wright even praised him as “world-class” in the Everton Disse, after a memorable goal against Nottingham Forest in 2022.
