Ronaldo signs amazing £492 million al-nassr deal to gain club ownership

The five-time Ballon D’Or champion at the age of 40 will receive a base salary of about £488,000 a day earlier this year. This calculates £178 million per year. He also received a signing bonus of £24.5 million, which could increase to £38 million if he stays in the second year of the deal.

Perhaps most notably, Ronaldo now owns a 15% ownership stake in al-Nassr, worth about £33 million. This has made him not only a player, but the line between athletes and executives. Ronaldo has previously spoken about his desire to have a football club after he stopped playing.

The new contract also brings many other benefits. Al-Nassr will pay Ronaldo 16 full-time employees, including drivers, butlers, chefs, gardeners and safety, for £1.4 million. He also has access to private jets worth £4 million a year. Most importantly, the Saudi company’s sponsorship transactions could reach £60 million.

Bonus can also be used if Ronaldo achieves certain goals. If Al-Nassr wins the league, he could get £4 million for winning the Golden Boot.

Ronaldo shared his excitement on social media, writing: “A new chapter begins. Same passion, same dreams. Let’s make history together.” The club also announced an extension, noting that his contract is valid for 2027.

Former Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea joked that Ronaldo is “free” given the large amount of money involved. Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr in December 2022 after leaving Manchester United. Since then, he has scored 99 goals in the club’s 111 games, including 35 last season winning the Saudi Pro League Golden Boot Award.

Despite Al-Nassr’s success in target scores, he has not won a major trophy since joining and ranked third last season. Ronaldo hints about leaving the club earlier, posting the “end of this chapter” after their trophy-free campaign. However, his new deal demonstrates his deep commitment to the club and Saudi football. His appearance greatly improved the image of the Saudi professional league and attracted other big names.

The agreement allowed Ronaldo to play after his 42nd birthday. His goal is to win silver with Al-Nassr and help further enhance the status of Saudi football globally.
