Arsenal “watched” signing $82 million

Ask an Arsenal fan what needs to improve this summer and we think most people will say attack.

After all, Mikel Arteta’s side finished second in the Premier League with the best defense this season, but scored 17 fewer goals than champion Liverpool and three less than Manchester City’s third place.

But while the North Londoners seem to have made progress in the deal to sign the likes of Christian Norgaard and Christian Mosquera, they have not yet made a major ground on new wingers or forwards.

Fortunately, the club is now associated with another center, world-class scorer, better than Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres.

Arsenal’s forward search

Each summer, Arsenal tends to find themselves involved in some kind of transfer legend, and Declan Rice was the theme two years ago, last summer, Mikel Merino.

This year, the missionaries focused more on one position: the striker.

While there are a few centers with the club in recent weeks and months, the two most important are Sesko and Gyokeres.

The former has been a long-term target for the Gunners, but reports say RCMP Leipzig now wants between €80 million and €100 million, which is about £68 million to £85 million, and the interests of North Londoners seem to have cooled down.

Meanwhile, the latter is currently in open conflict with Sporting CP as the club has broken a supposed gentleman’s deal, which again saw his price soar to £80m, according to some reports.

With these problems, it makes sense for the Gunner to head towards other targets, which seems to be what is happening.

At least this is based on the latest report from BBC Sport’s Sami Mokbel, who revealed that in fact, Arsenal is interested in Julian Alvarez.

Speaking on the Latte podcast, the respected journalist claimed that North Londoners “look at” how they made a deal for Madrid superstar this summer.

Unfortunately, Mokbel doesn’t think it’s a deal the club can do, and it’s likely that the situation is because he joined the Spanish giants for only £82 million last summer and, according to CIES Football Poothervatry, he is now worth up to €125 million, or about £106 million.

That being said, even if it’s a complicated and expensive transfer to complete, it’s an Arsenal fight, as Alvarez will be better than Sesko and Sesko and Gyokeres.

So if we first look at the comparison between Sesko and Alvarez, it is really easy to understand why the latter signs Arsenal better than the former, which almost entirely boils down to their respective outputs.

For example, it is undeniable that the Slovenian enjoyed strong individual sports with RB Leipzig this season, scoring 21 goals in 45 games and providing 6 assists in 45 games totaling 3,258 minutes, with an average of goals or assistance per 1.66 games or every 120.66 minutes.

But even with impressive numbers, his efficiency is not as good as the Atlético star.

In his 57 games for the Spanish Giants, a total of 3967 minutes, the “World’s Best Forward” (called “World’s Best Forward” by Argentina news reporter Roy Nemer) scored 29 goals and provided 8 assists, with a lofty assist every 1.54 games or every 107.21 minutes, and a sublime assist every 1.54 games.

Well, what would make the former Manchester City star better than Gyokeres, who ended in 52 games this season with 54 goals and 13 assists?

Well, in this case, the argument boils down to two reasons for interlocking: the level of opposition and his experience.

Regarding the first reason, the Portuguese League is currently ranked 11th in world football, and worse than that, 11 of the 18 teams are considered to be in the league level. La Liga, by comparison, is the third best in the world.

Beyond that, the Swedish international has never played in a top five league, and the risks of signing him on someone with experience in Premier League championships have become clear.

Ultimately, Arsenal need to make sure they sign the right forward this summer, and Alvarez looks like he ticks all the boxes, even if it proves difficult to get him out of Madrid.
