Brentford rejected an improved transfer proposal from Manchester United’s Cameroon International Bryan Mbeumo.
Manchester United’s latest proposal is worth up to £62.5 million, including the previous £55 million and £7.5 million performance-based add-ons.
This was also rejected earlier this month after an earlier £45 million bid plus a potential bonus of £10 million.
The Premier League giants aim to enhance their offensive choices as Matheus Cunha has been acquired from Wolves for £62.5m. However, Brentford reportedly paid a similar guarantee fee before considering parting with their star forward, which had a year left.
Mbeumo, 25, enjoyed an outstanding campaign last season, earning a personal best of 20 goals and adding nine assists.
His performance has attracted the attention of several clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur, and it is understood that new manager Thomas Frank, who was in charge of Brentford, was eager to attend the party.

In addition, Champions League clubs across Europe are believed to be monitoring the situation of the wingers.
If he moves to Old Trafford, Mbeumo will be reunited with Cameroonian teammates and Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana.
However, any club that signs him must plan his absence during the African Cup of Nations which begins in December. Cameroon faces Gabon in the opening group match on December 24, meaning Mbeumo may not be able to get at most in the 2025-26 season.
Mbeumo initially joined Brentford from French side Troyes in 2019, when the club was still in the championship game. Since then, he has scored 70 goals in 242 appearances and has played a crucial role in the promotion to the Premier League in 2021.
