He may not be in a good figure, but his elite skating ability makes him a dangerous player. He is deceptive to hockey and has a strong vision, using his speed to become a threat to the trap.

Porter performed well as the 17-year-old at the NCAA this season. He scored 13 goals and 22 points for the Sun Devils in 35 games, a good total for his age group. He should see his college numbers increase over the next few seasons and become the main driver of Arizona’s offense. At the NHL level, he has the potential to become a high-energy creator, perhaps at the mid-term six.

How this affects the flame’s plan
Cole Reschny was obtained at Pick 18 and Potter 32, and the flames indicated that they valued characteristics and scale of production. They have done some great work recently in the NHL draft and have two options for a happy day.

Reschny and Potter are both potential first six centers, the latter tending toward the middle six centers. But despite almost making the playoffs, the flames still landed some tricks, so there was no top pick. They have work to do in building a pool, but for them, things look much better.
