Anthony Edwards made a foul in the first quarter on Thursday. Lakers’ Jared Vanderbilt swapped shovels with him, which led to a double-layer technique. Fast forward to the third quarter, and Anthony Edwards took the ball in his hands. He felt like he was fouled while driving and then got on the ground. After being bored, Edwards offered one of the referees the choice.
The referee was directly blasphemed in three All-Star Games and received a second technical foul. This led to Edwards being expelled from the game with 5:21 left in the third quarter. Before being expelled, the referee did consider that the second technique would pop up. They made the decision.
Now, Anthony Edwards has 16 technical fouls before March. According to ESPN statistics and research, he is the first player to do so since DeMarcus Cousins in 2016-17. Edwards wants to be part of the statistics. He will suspend a game unless one of his technical fouls is revoked. That could be a Friday night game against Utah Jazz Minnesota. In the West’s eighth place, the Timberwolves could not afford to let their star players leave the court.
