Manchester United can unleash their 17-year-old future superstar

Manchester United has a pretty busy January transfer window. The Red Devils reached several deals with some big spending. The biggest departure was United Academy graduate Marcus Rashford, who continued to loan and joined Aston Villa until the end of the season.

Brazilian winger Antony also temporarily moved to Real Betis in La Liga, while Tyrell Malacia joined Dutch clothing PSV Eindhoven. Loan action was also provided to several academy players, including Ethan Wheatley.

In terms of revenue, Manchester United made two signings. Ayden Heaven joined the club from Arsenal and moved freely, left-wing defender Patrick Dorgu also switched to Old Trafford.

Dole’s time at Manchester United so far

Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim solves the key issues around him by signing Dorgu. Dane signed the Serie A fighter LECCE for £25m and another £4.1m in potential add-ons.

Dorgu-2

The Danish international signed to help increase depth at Manchester United’s left-wing back, which obviously needs to be strengthened. Luke Shaw is injured, Malacia’s loan plan, Diogo Dalot is Amorim’s only option.

It is fair to say that Dole has impressed in his short career so far. He made four appearances and was described as a “very promising player” after his impressive performance against Everton last weekend.

Frustratingly, the young Dane was dispatched with Ipswich Town in a recent Premier League clash due to dangerous challenges, which is considered worthy of mention after the VAR review. Beyond that, he has performed well on the uniform shirt so far.

Dorgu-1

Dorgu obviously has great potential and will certainly get better under Amorim’s leadership. But he may not be the only talented left-wing defender the club will soon have.

Talented young people who can compete with Dorgu

For the past few decades, United have been giving young stars a chance to prove what they can do in that famous red shirt. The next young player who might show off his talent is Diego Leon.

The 17-year-old is Paraguay’s left-back and, according to the BBC Sport, served at the club in January. He appears to be permanently transferred from Paraguayan side Cerro Porteno to Old Trafford in the summer.

Last season, the 17-year-old became a key player in the club. He made 19 appearances from left back in Primera’s division Clausura and completed 90 minutes in 15. He even managed to get himself into the scoring slice twice.

Leon has quickly started Paraguay’s new season. He scored his first goal in Cerro Porteno’s 3-1 Cup Copa Libertadores defeat of Monagas SC, a key equalizer. If there is any question about the suitability Leon showed in Amoir’s back-row match, his target threat might help resolve them.

Nicolas is described as an “explosive” player by football analyst Nicolas, and Leon’s statistics on Sofascore highlight some of his key strengths. For example, he created nine chances last season and made 45 tackles and interceptions.

By comparison, like Sofascore, Dorgu created 20 chances and won 68 tackles and interceptions for Lecce this season, in four other games.

Leon seems to be the player that Manchester United fans are excited about. There is no doubt that the 17-year-old has a lot to learn in professional competitions, but he is obviously a talented young man who has impressed with advanced football.

While Dorgu has temporarily cut his left-wing backfield hit rate, perhaps along the line, Leon may start challenging him, and if he becomes part of the Unified First Team, he can challenge his place on the side.
