Michigan professional Brett White seeks Puerto Rico’s first PGA Tour victory

Gameabove Sports-sponsored golfer Brett White continues to inspire full tour status

Grand Rapids, Michigan, March 3, 2025 Brett White has been the target. One of his life’s wishes was to participate in the PGA Tour. The 31-year-old Eastern Michigan graduate has experienced the excitement of playing at the highest level of golf twice, taking another step towards his ultimate goal when he played the PGA tour at the Puerto Rico Open from March 6-9. “Gaming on the PGA Tour is just part of the dream. I want to win the highest level of victory,” White said.

White is one of six golfers sponsored and financially supported by Gameabove. “I wouldn’t be able to continue playing the sport I love without adding the game. Their financial support and relentless commitment to me allowed me to focus on improving the game, rather than worrying about trying to reach the challenging financial aspects of the PGA Tour,” White said.

Growing up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, White is an outstanding multi-sport athlete who won three all-state selections in hockey and two all-state selections in golf before bringing his talents to Eastern Michigan. His transition to a professional team was quick and he had early success in the PGA Tour Latinamerica. However, in 2017, he suffered from viral encephalitis and missed the rest of the season. He was confined to a wheelchair and went through ten weeks of hard physical therapy to re-learning so that he could even consider returning to the race. With no medical waiver, he lost his identity as a tour and faced the challenge of starting. White won the Nevada Open after two years of his ordeal and said with his story: “I tell my story and share the struggles and challenges that many people face. But just because your hands are getting bad doesn’t mean you give up. I’m grateful every day and thankful for the opportunity to play the game I really like.”

White wielded a game with a right-handed game that would win his third career PGA Tour, but for the first time since 2023. WhiteTh Finished the match at the Sanderson Farm Championship in October 2023. He also won a spot on the elevated field of the WM Phoenix Open, playing with Sone’s top players.

He has competed in over fifty events in the PGA Tour approved competitions, including three events on PGA Tour Canada, four events on PGA Tour Latinoamerica, five events on Americas’ PGA Tour and nine events on Korn Ferry Tour.

Past winners of the Puerto Rico Open include Victor Hovland, ranked 14thTh In the world that won in 2020; Tony Finau won the game in 2016 and had six PGA Tour titles; and Alex Cejka’s only PGA win was in this game in 2015.
