The results of the PGA Tour shooting for decades will never debut in the Player Championship like before on Tour’s new AI course setting tool.

Artificial Intelligence is about to participate in the PGA Tour. Or rather, it is popular with the PGA Tour.
As part of numerous announcements released this week at players, the tour will debut its “AI Course Setting Tool” to help you do that: Set up courses for the best players in the world.
According to a Monday morning release,[It] Allows the team to set up T-shirts and fixed sign positions on the Player Stadium course at TPC Sawgrass and generate simulations for expected scoring results, driving distances and other game-related statistics. ”
The tour produced three videos at launch and explained how the tool would enhance its typical setup process, as it has archived hundreds of thousands of photos over the years. Stephen Cox, vice president of rules and games, will be responsible for the use of this week as a player’s main official.

“What this allows us to do is – hole hole – if we set a hole, we have a little understanding of the future This waywhat it would be like,” Cox said. “In some of the changes we made on TPC Sawgrass, we could do some simulations to give us a specification that measures how the vulnerability will play a role in the player’s standards for players’ championship competition. ”
In many ways, this is the obvious next step in the large number of data sets collected over the years of the tour. It has been operating the Shotlink system for a full 20 years in most tour events. With each foot close to a hole, you can cut into the edge of the green, and this trip will understand what the average score for a given day means. Over the years, as events often use similar holes and tee positions, this dataset can help predict easy, difficult or unfair approaches for professionals to consider the conditions, rather than just obvious. It may be subtle, but it will handle information Front For the tournament committee, the game, not the tournament, is worth it.

Cox mentioned the changes to TPC Sawgrass, what it means to the field and how tournament organizers anticipate it. The sixth hole is only seen, it once saw the player Tango, with a big tree on it, but it has not existed for the past decade. The trip was considered a strategic element of Pete Dye’s original design, recovering a sloping tree in sixth place and being able to use its AI course setting tool to predict what this means for the game. Cox also saw the tool helps the tour decide how to implement other building features in the travel course.
“One other element that it allows us to do is that we made more architectural changes, Cox said, and the image of the imaginary tree moves along the edge of the fairway on the computer screen. “We can tilt it What will happen if we do this?
“Add other bunkers, narrow fairways, add trees or other terrain to challenge players in different ways. What are the impacts of making these changes before we spend a lot of time, effort and resources on making them? ”
