Dembele brings the overall level of French giants

Ousmane Dembele continues to his excellent start in 2025, with Paris Saint-Germain continuing his first match against Liverpool at Anfield.

The French winger started a quick counterattack after 12 minutes, playing Luis Enrique’s soldiers in front of the front after the home team occupied the opening stage in front of the raucous Merseyside crowd.

Liverpool was completely overwhelmed at Parc des Princes last week but showed up with a 1-0 first leg.

This time, as PSG rides on luck, its role is reversed as the home court flocks forward.

Arne Slot’s soldiers may be ahead as early as the fourth minute. Dominik Szobozslai picked the Alexis Mac Allister, and his Square Pass seemed to be the perfect ending for Mohamed Salah, but the Egyptian’s shot hit Nuno Mendes and flashed in the bar.

Salah then shot a yard and Virgil Van Dijk saw a Mac Allister Cross header, which was blocked online as the pressure continued.

Dembele shocked Anfield when Paris Saint-Germain leads

Everywhere – as Liverpool did last week – PSG scored.

Dembele quickly took a break from his half before sliding to the right at Bradley Barcola. Barcola’s cross was pushed towards Alisson by Ibrahima Konate’s outstretched leg, and Dembele scored his 21st goal in 2025.

Konate made a correction almost immediately with a 25-yard shot, which almost doubled Gianluigi Donnarumma’s cleverness, diving stay at PSG.

This time it was Khvicha Kvaratskhelia who led the break and then before Barcola slipped, but his efforts were suffocated by the moving forward Alisson.
