New Zealand vs Australia: Third Women's One-Day International – Live | Australian Women's Cricket Team
key events
Round 7: Australia 34-0 (Healy 24, Litchfield 3) Healy picked up another boundary and Litchfield showed the first sign of her true intentions by lingering along the wicket to play for power, which went straight to the fielder, with her partner By comparison, she was still bound.
Round 6: Australia 27-0 (Healy 18, Lichfield 2) Sophie Devine was keen to get involved and took part in the slightly wayward positive twist herself. She kept her opponent honest with a short ball past the advancing Healy and started with an accurate over-the-ball, stump to stump As Chris DeBerg doesn't quite sing.
Round 5: Australia 23-0 (Healy 15, Lichfield 2) Mel made things even tighter, ending with a single from Healy. You're still thinking about those fallen fish, aren't you?
Round 4: Australia 23-0 (Healy 15, Litchfield 2) Healy leaned back and easily pulled Penfold to the square-leg fence. The New Zealand seamer had some difficulty adjusting her thread to the left/right-handed Australian opening partnership. reduce! Another chance came begging, this time Healy had a huge glove on the leg side that Isabella Gates couldn't catch with her glove. New Zealand cannot afford to perpetuate this gilded batting card. Healey and Lichfield now have one each.
Third game: Australia 15-0 (Healy 10, Litchfield 2) reduce! Mair caught the edge of Litchfield's driving blade but Bella James could not hold on to the catch, slipping to her left. She kicked at the turf and shook her head the rest of the time. It was a tough opportunity, but she felt she should take it. The batsman hit a quick single and Healy rubbed salt into the wound with his four over cover.
Round 2: Australia 9-0 (Healy 6, Lichfield 1) Litchfield cut off her toes to get out of trouble. Penfold is trying to find some action and her delivery is full but a little too wide. The next ball also went wide, then over-corrected too short and Healy pounced and spun to pull away for four. Penfold found his length in the last three balls but the forward defensive strokes all came ominously from the middle of the bat.
Round 1: Australia 2-0 (Healy 2, Lichfield 0) Rosemary Mair got off to a lively start, beating Healy with a nice angled cut inside and a late seam. closure! Healy's lead somehow found a gap between the point guard and the trailing man, and the batsmen ran for a few runs. This could have easily happened and they were the only winners.
Molly Penfold will be sharing the new Kookaburra, having just achieved a career-best figure of 4-42 after sweeping Australia's top order just a few days ago.
here we go, Bright sunshine at Basin Preserve. Rosemary Mair will slide first to Alyssa Healy. Play!
Amelia Kerr Talk about being aggressive and not taking a step back because that approach won't work against Australia's mighty force. The pitch does look beautiful and with Australia having a stacked batting card, the White Ferns will definitely need early wickets.
Thalia McGrathHe acted as captain in the absence of Alyssa Healy and told the anchor about Australia's “ruthlessness” and how Annabelle Sutherland is now on the other plane. There's talk of getting this game in one's pocket, and then the 3am alarm clock tomorrow morning will send Australians flying home to spend Christmas with their families. They're already a well-trained, truly ruthless team who don't think too much about eggnog, gifts and Christmas lunch. I can't say that myself.
Here’s some good pre-race reading:
New Zealand's lineup also remains unchanged:
Australia wins the coin toss and bats first
Alyssa Healy correctly called the coin and elected to bat first at the Wellington wicket which looked good. There are no changes to the Australian squad and we will have news on the White Ferns squad soon.
I'm reliably informed that it's a beautiful day in Wellington! Throw it in…
Preface
James Wallace
Hello everyone and welcome to Wellington for the third Women's ODI between New Zealand and Australia. Jolly old Saint Nick may be slathering his rich beard with beard oil and lint, rolling up his mink in preparation for another holiday excursion, but we still only I had time to sneak in a game of cricket before the big guys saddled the reindeer and programmed the sleigh navigation.
The Aussies will be hoping to end the year on a high note and a win today would put Alyssa Healy's side in a series against the White Ferns in their own backyard and would keep Australia ahead of hiccups Excellent condition. *ash* Starts in January.
As for the home side, Sophie Devine and Co. will be hoping for clear skies and a draw each in the series after suffering washouts and rain impacts in the first two games.
Here Jim calls foggy old Blighty. I'll be back soon with team news, with the game kicking off at 11am local time / 9am AEDT.
