No. 3 Greatest Golf Moments of 2024: Scottie Scheffler’s Season

Scotty Scheffler takes first place (1) Among the staggering number of categories are strokes, scoring averages, official prize money, about a dozen other very important categories, and the most important category of all: world rankings.

Scheffler's victory in April means he now has two wins (2) The Masters victory made him one of only 18 members of the exclusive club.

Scheffler was named PGA Tour Player of the Year, joining Tiger Woods as the only players to win the award three times. (3) multiple times in a row.

Scheffler has won four games in a row (4) That followed five starts in March and April, when he won the Arnold Palmer, The Players, the Masters and the RBC Heritage. A disappointing fifth game in this stretch? He tied for second at the Houston Open and just missed a putt that would have earned him a playoff spot.

Scheffler scored five goals (5) He was caught with a sub-par score at the PGA Championship on Friday at Valhalla. He went on to finish tied for eighth this week.

Scheffler leads PGA Tour with seven (7) The official number of wins is the most in a season since Tiger Woods won eight in 2006.

Scheffler does have nine (9) Victory, if you count the Hero World Challenge (which you probably should count) and the Olympic gold medal (which you should count, like, extra).

Scheffler gets $10 million (10) The pair traded crypto with Rory McIlroy after defeating Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka in a December showdown. He says this could be the push he needs to understand what cryptocurrencies really are.

Scheffler now has thirteen (13) Career Wins – All 13 of these wins have come since Ted Scott became his caddy before the 2022 season.

Schaeffler is sixteen (16) Although he only played in 19 events, the top 10 still leads the PGA Tour; only Xander Schauffele also has double-digit scores.

Schaeffler 29 (29) The back nine of the final round at the Olympics won him the gold; it was arguably the most incredible single nine of the season.

Scheffler has now produced forty-four (44) Continuous cutting; his last host was at the 2022 Genesis Scottish Open. It's worth noting that many of Schaeffler's starts these days have come in uncut events, but 44 games is still no joke. Only two other golfers currently have a winning streak of more than 17 matches.

Scheffler’s win at the Hero World Challenge netted him the final $1 million, bringing his winnings to more than $63 million ($63) When you include his bonus money (more than $30 million) plus FedEx Cup bonuses ($25 million) and Comcast bonuses ($8 million), that's just what was earned on the court this season.

Scheffler average score (68.01) Set a new PGA Tour record.
