Pat Cummins has lost another batting partner in Mitchell Starc for the 2024-25 Gavaskar Trophy at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in Melbourne. In the four Border Tests, he continued to create scoreboards for Australia on day four against India.

In the second innings of the game in Melbourne, Australia, Mitchell Starc scored 5 runs off 13 balls after some brilliant fielding by Rishabh Pant. It happened when the Aussie pacer hit a long ball from Jasprit Bumrah behind the leg-side square for a single.

Starc tried to return for the second over but his batting partner Pat Cummins was not interested. Starc had to look back and when the delivery came to Pant, he quickly moved in front of the stumps. Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant took the ball and bowled it directly to remove Starc.
