Max Homa made his first major equipment announcement of 2025 as he announced his move to Cobra Puma Golf ahead of the PGA Tour season opener: The Sentry.
The American is heading into the new year with a new on-court look and severing a long-standing partnership with Titleist/Footjoy that dates back to his college days.
The 34-year-old's caddy will now carry a Cobra golf bag, a change that Homa hopes will make a difference as he seeks a first major victory after finishing third at last year's Masters.
While it's not uncommon for golfers to choose to switch equipment manufacturers, the timing and proximity to the start of the new season raises eyebrows.
The nine-time Tour Champion was photographed earlier this week wearing Cobra-branded gear at the Sentry Pro-Am event in the Aloha State.
However, as of Wednesday morning, he was still recognized on the Titleist website, suggesting it's too late for him to become the new face of Cobra Puma Golf.

Terminating his long-standing relationships with Titleist and Footjoy has been good for the major hopeful, providing flexibility in his golf bag setup.
His new deal means he will be able to mix up his gear, allowing him to include the ever-reliable Scotty Cameron Phantom 5.5 Mallet putter.
The social media darling was photographed practicing with the same Cobra DS-ADAPT LS driver That compatriot Ricky Fowler immediately got into the bag.
With the rider tagged as part of the package on the Cobra website, it's expected to become a permanent fixture this season.

The mix of styles in this collaboration suggests that the 2023 Ryder Cup star will have an interesting set of irons.
The former world No. 5 will carry a Cobra Limit3D 4-iron and a King CB 5-iron, and the remainder of his set includes a set of custom 6-PW prototype 3D-printed irons that will Carefully sculpted to meet the needs of his game.
Homa expressed appreciation for Cobra's ability to use 3D printing to create fine-tuned equipment, which may have been an important factor in his decision to switch brands.

In addition to the new-look playing gear, Puma also announced that he will be wearing the new 2025 Puma Ignite Elevate 2 Tour golf shoes as he looks to make waves and win trophies on the PGA Tour this season.
