The Los Angeles wildfires may force the PGA Tour to change its plans for the Genesis Invitational.

The spreading wildfires in Los Angeles could change the PGA Tour's plans to hold the Genesis Invitational next month at Riviera Country Club.

The Palisades Fire, which started Tuesday, is already the most destructive fire in Los Angeles history, according to the Wildfire Alliance.

Pacific Palisades is home to Riviera Country Club, which hosts the Genesis Invitational, a signature event hosted by Tiger Woods Sex tour event.

On Thursday, the PGA Tour sent a memo to players informing them that no decision had been made on a potential change to the date or location of the Genesis Tournament.

“It is premature to discuss potential impacts to the Genesis Invitational,” the PGA Tour said in the memo. “While Riviera Country Club was not directly affected by the fire, our primary concern is the health of the affected community.” and well-being, including for all members with ties to Southern California, we will keep members updated as the situation evolves.

There are still many fires raging in the Los Angeles area.

According to the Associated Press, the fires have destroyed more than 10,000 buildings and killed at least 10 people. The Palisades Fire has burned more than 30 square miles and is currently only 8% contained. About 180,000 people are being evacuated. The fire spread to an area larger than the city of San Francisco.

The fires have affected other sports leagues. The NBA postponed Thursday night's game against the Los Angeles Lakers and the NFL moved Monday night's NFC wild-card game from SoFi Stadium in Englewood, Calif., to Glendale, Ariz.
