Milwaukee Admirals claim forward Chase DeLeo Charlotte Checkers on waivers.
Del Rio signed a one-year AHL contract with the Checkers, but was placed on AHL waivers as he began the season in Europe. He played in 9 games with HC Barys Astana of the Kontinental Hockey League and 4 games with Zurich SC of the Swiss National Hockey League.
Del Rio, a 10-year pro player from La Mirada, Calif., has spent his entire career in North America until the 2024-25 season, including stints in the AHL with Manitoba, San Diego and Utee Card's 494 games. He totaled 135 goals and 214 assists for 349 points in the AHL.
Del Rio was a fourth-round pick of Winnipeg in the 2014 NHL Draft and has played in seven career NHL games with the Jets, Anaheim Ducks and New Jersey Devils.
