Lucknow Supergiants wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant talked about his chances of starting in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Any decision will be discussed with management.

Rishabh Pant is one of the best players in IPL
Rishabh Pant is one of the best players in the IPL and it's fair to say that he played a huge role in the success of his previous team Delhi Capitals. The batsman captained the team and also took the team to the playoffs with his leadership and batting prowess.
However, Rishal Pant will have a different set-up this time around and it won't be a surprise if he bats at the top of the order this time. He is even likely to start as he did for India in the 2016 U19 World Cup and in the T20I series against New Zealand after the 2022 T20 World Cup in November 2022.
Temptation toh hota hai bahut sari cheejo ka but i think abhi 100% clarity nahi hui hai – Rishabh Pant will open in IPL 2025
Talking about the opening, Pant said he will discuss the same with Zaheer Khan. He emphasized that he did not want to make a hasty opening decision because he also performed well in the middle line. He said in an interview with Sports Tak:
“temptation toh hota hai bahut sari cheejo ka but i think abhi 100% clarity nahi hui hai. Wahi discussion mai Zak (Zaheer Khan) bhai se kar raha tha ki abhi 100% clarityke sath nahi decide kara ki open karna hai ya mai rehna hai. Because itne saal se jab aap mein khel rahe hote ho aur aapne acha kara hota hai, God has been kind, okay okay kar raha tha mai IPL mei.
“Toh jab itne saal se aap khel rahe hote ho toh ek have played certain roles in ho jaate ho so I don't want to make rash decisions on external noise ye hai chalo hum bhi kar lete hai. Because for me , this is my life, this is my career, and this is what I live for.
I don’t want to change it overnight – Rishabh Pant on leaving the middle for success and going to the top
Pant added that he will hold discussions with the coaching staff and then whatever is best for the team, he will do. He said:
“I don't want to change it overnight, uske barey mein aur time lekar sochna chahta hoon. Discuss karunga abhi aur Zak bhai ke sath, Justin (Lange) ke sath aur discuss karunga ki kya kar sakte hai and then eventually Joe Bee Yi decided to let Usko return to Karonga.
