Klopp brews bigger stars than Trent

Liverpool have been proclaiming some great players in the academy for years, who are now finding their way to the first team.

One of them, Curtis Jones has become a key player for Arne this semester and started Thomas Tuchel’s first match as England manager.

There are also some well-known National Defense Academy graduates who play a major role in the first team at Anfield. These include effervescent right-back Conor Bradley and centre-back Jarell Quansah.

But the most famous academy graduate is Trent Alexander-Arnold, who sadly can leave the club at the end of the season.

Why Trent decides to leave Liverpool

Alexander-Arnold did it all in a Liverpool shirt. In his 349 games at his childhood club, he scored 22 goals and scored 87 assists, helping him win his first Premier League title and Champions League in 2018/19/19.

He has been one of the most creative players in Premier League history, especially with double-digit assists in three independent top campaigns, 12 in 2018/19, 12 assists in 2019/20 and 13 in 2021/22.

However, he probably won’t add more to the incredible legacy that Anfield has built. According to famous journalist David Ornstein, the 26-year-old is about to sign Real Madrid.

In a recent report, he explained that Los Blancos is “working to end” the signing of England International as his contract expires at the end of the season, which will not cost transfer fees.

It will be a seismic loss for Liverpool and Liverpool needs to find a way to replace one of their most important offensive media. Ornstein reported that Madrid had been tracking right back for two years and had been trying to convince him to join the club since January.

So, why did he leave? Well, of course it’s not for money. Liverpool Island currently earns £180,000 a week in Merseyside, and according to TalkSport, he will earn £220,000 a week at the Santiago Bernabeu with only a small pay increase.

This may also be to improve his own profile. Last year, the right back admitted that he wanted to win the Ballon d’Or and Madrid could provide him with a platform considering they were Champions League champions. Elite competitions in Europe are often seen as a catalyst for making the top players of the game the best players in the world.

But, where does it start? Well, of course, among the youngsters at Liverpool. It was in his career that he met some of the best people through the youth system, although some, in this case, did not advance at Anfield.

Liverpool Academy star leads Trent

Liverpool’s academy has always been a rich source of quality players, and it was just more important than that when Alexander-Arnold came on the squad.

Ben Woodburn soon joined the Liverpool U21 debut on the same side, a 3-0 win over Manchester City in 2016. It was during the 2016/17 event that both players began waving at the academy.

Woodben looks like a serious talent and has been talked about more often than Trent, mainly because he scored eight goals in just 15 Premier League 2 outings and helped with six goals.

The Welshman also started to play in the first-team level, actually making his Premier League debut, a month ago, Alexander-Arnold did it, defeating Sunderland 2-0 at the age of 17 and a month.

The forward has such a great potential that he actually has a prestigious record at Anfield. He is the youngest scorer ever in the club, finding the Nets against Leeds United in the 17-year-old and 45-day game. He beat Michael Owen’s long-term record in the process.

However, this did not work for the prodigy. Liverpool Academy graduates made 11 appearances for the club in total, and his strike against the whites was the club’s only goal. Woodburn’s last team appeared on the last day of the 2017/18 Premier League season.

Wales International played four separate loan spells while at Liverpool, but never really managed to settle in a club. In 2022, he left Anfield with a free transfer, where he played for the Preston North End and, most recently, Salford.

For the ’92-owned club class, Woodburn enjoyed the most successful football spell of his career. He scored three goals and scored three assists in 26 games, the same as he played in the North End, where he played 64 times.

Sadly, Woodben lived up to his expectations at Anfield. At one stage, as Alexander-Arnold did, he seemed to be able to continue his long and successful career at Liverpool, but that wasn’t the case.
