
Springfield, Massachusetts. …The American Hockey League announced today that Providence Bears move forward Matthew Poitras Has been selected as Howies Hockey Tape/AHL Players of the Week During the period ending April 13, 2025.
Poitras recorded two goals and five assists in two games last week for the Bruis.
On Friday night, Poitras scored a career-high 4 points with two scores and added two assists to Providence’s 6-2 victory in Hartford. Then on Saturday, he got three more assists, and his personal best, as the Bruins beat Belleville 4-3.
Poitras is the second professional sport between Providence and Boston this season, with a total of 16 goals and 24 assists in 38 AHL games with P-Bruis. He added one goal and 10 assists in 33 NHL outings in 2024-25.
The 21-year-old Poitras, who was Boston’s second round choice in the 2022 NHL Draft, spent his rookie season with his parents Bruiss, scoring five goals and 10 assists in 33 NHL games.
