De Haan also made his own statement about X (formerly known as Twitter), which downplayed some of his comments but still made it clear that he was upset, noting that he was frustrated and felt that if he didn’t have a fair chance, even if it wasn’t a senior role, he still believed he could still help the team win.

De Haan, 33, has played three games with the Rangers this season and received an assist. He started the season with the avalanche, where he played 44 games and received seven assists.

He has been involved in the deal between the Avalanche and Rangers, with four players switching to the team in the days leading up to the 2025 trade deadline, including Ryan Lindgren, Jimmy Vesey and Juuso Parssinen. Throughout De Haan’s career, he scored 24 goals in 679 games and added 125 assists to score 149 points and an average of 0.22 points.

The future of de Haan

De Haan is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2024-25 season and may enter the open market when the campaign is about to end. During the offseason, there will be interested teams to increase their defensive depth, and De Haan should have some suitors.
