It has been nearly three years since Justin Thomas won the PGA Tour.
The two-time minority champion has been knocking on the door this season, finishing second in the American Express and Valspar championship games. Thomas will have another chance to end his drought on Sunday at the RBC legacy.
Thomas started the signature event on Thursday with 61 course records. He entered the weekend with a lead for the first time since the 2022 Farmers Insurance Open, but watched Si Woo Kim pass him in the third round on Saturday, making a lead to the final day.
Thomas and Andrew Novak will enter Sunday’s final first round shot. Maverick McNealy had only two strokes, while Brian Harman and Tommy Fleetwood made three-pointers.
The Royal Bank of Canada legacy is a signature event with a $20 million wallet. The winner will receive a check of $3.6 million.
