Liverpool star proves why FSG has to spend millions of dollars

Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold saved his day on Sunday, defeating Leicester City 1-0 at Kings Electric Stadium with a stunning strike.

His second half goal means that Arne Slot’s side is now only three points away from winning the Premier League title, and they can play against Tottenham Hotspur next Sunday at Anfield.

As you can see in the highlights above, it’s an emotional celebration of England International, who took off his shirt and celebrated enthusiastically in front of away supporters.

He had no contract at the end of the season, and Real Madrid was monitoring his situation and declined to comment on his future in an interview after the game.

But one Liverpool player who has already worked on Anfield is winger Mohamed Salah, who recently extended the pen for two years.

Unfortunately, the former Chelsea and Roma striker’s performance against Leicester on Sunday wasn’t one of his best outings in the Red.

Mo Salah’s struggle with Leicester

Egypt International set the tone for the opening clock of the game when he found himself unmarked in the box and saw his efforts low and hit both posts and took a step back for Leicester’s defender. It wasn’t the day he had before the goal.

Salah played a full 90 minutes against the Foxes and scored seven, after the initial effort hit two positions, six more shots, failed to find the back of the net from either and only hit the target once.

The left-footed magician missed four “big opportunities” than any other player on the court and will certainly do everything he can to stand out without a goal to work hard in the last third.

But, as you can see in the table above, Salah did create a “big opportunity” for his teammates, which didn’t get assists because he was involved in a lot of actions in the Leicester box – no successful actions.

Salah has scored 27 goals in the Premier League so far this season and provided 18 assists in the Premier League, but the performance against the Foxes is far from what supporters have seen over the rest of the year.

The Liverpool superstar isn’t the only player to have a poor performance in the Kings’ Power’s 1-0 victory over Leicester as Conor Bradley failed to take the opportunity to impress.

Northern Ireland International was nodded by the right back before Alexander-Arnold, who was still back with injuries and was not considered ready to start.

Liverpool’s academy graduates started 71 minutes into the game before being taken to the British defender, who then won the Reds.

Bradley started his worst start early in the game, as Salah put the ball in his own box and was solved by Wilfred Ndidi, who failed to get into the cross before exiting the game. This sets the tone for the rest of the results.

As you can see in the table above, the 21-year-old defender continued to lose most of his physical duel and he also threw the ball away 17 times without creating nine “big opportunities” that Liverpool has created.

These statistics show that Bradley is as bad as Salah because he lacks quality and defensiveness on the ball, as neither player performs on the right.

Now, FSG must pay attention to this performance of right-back, because if Alexander-Arnold doesn’t place the pen on paper on contract extensions, the board must spend millions on the new right-back.

Why FSG has to sign new right-back for Liverpool

The England international promptly reminded him of his best qualities. He is a defender who has the ability to use the ball as a scorer and is the creator of the top of the court to win games in his day.

If Liverpool moves as a free agent this summer, he will lose a huge offensive channel in their team, and Bradley hasn’t proven his ability to fill that gap.

The young defender lacks the quality of the ball in his victory over Leicester is just a plan for Liverpool to have a planned right-back plan if Alexander-Arnold keeps moving forward.

As you can see in the table above, the English generator offers much more than what Bradley does at his feet, creating 14 times the “big opportunity” in the Premier League.

The Reds are linked to interest in Bayer Leverkusen defender Jeremie Frimpong, who was worth £34m early this year and the Dutch defender provided 44 assists to German clubs in 186 games.

Because of his ability to score and assist the right-back goals, he may need to replace Alexander-Arnold’s quality, and further prove that if FSG wants to provide him with a high-quality alternative, FSG will need to splash cash and spend millions of dollars.

Now, if Alexander-Arnold decides to end his time at Anfield this summer, the board will spend money on the money needed to strengthen the slots’ roster.
