However, the victory comes at a price, with major players David Alaba and Eduardo Camavinga injured during the game.
After the game, head coach Carlo Ancelotti shared the initial update of the injury, providing information about the appearance for both players ahead of the major weekend clash.
The Italian revealed at a post-match press conference that both players were suspicious of Saturday’s Del Rey Cup final against Barcelona.
“There must be a boss tomorrow, but he and Alaba have muscle discomfort and it’s hard to attend on Saturday. Yes, Fran García is the only alternative to the left back.”
Camavinga replaced the injured Alaba in the half but was also forced to quit after being knocked late in the game.
In the assessment of the game, Ancelotti admitted that despite ensuring the victory they needed, the game proved to be a challenge for his team.
