She plays with the heroes of her childhood. Now she leads the glyph

Haeran Ryu was so excited when she saw the pairing board in the first two rounds of the year’s No. 1 major because it showed she would pair with Yani Tseng. Ryu, 24, grew up watching Tseng, 36, who won five major titles between 2008 and 2011 at the height of her strength. In South Korea, Tseng is Ryu’s favorite player and most of her professional games.

“Yes, my dad is a big fan of Yani Tseng,” Ryu said Thursday. “She was still on the LPGA Tour until I became a professional player. [When] Yani [was] At the top of the rankings, he told me, “Hey, come here, you can see this golf channel. Yani is going to top it. Yes!'”
