Capitals scored a goal ahead of Canadians in 3-1 series – Hockey writer – Montreal Canadaens

Washington Capitals forward Andrew Mangiapane won a late-stage goal to help his team lead 3-1 in the first round series against the Montreal Canadiens. Two empty net goals scored on Sunday at the Bell Center to score a 5-2 victory.

The Capitals fell behind third place 2-1. However, when Tom Wilson shocked Habs defensive Alexandre Carrier, the host Canadiens got into the frame for six minutes, and things got worse. On the goal, Lane Hutson got another assist, two of his assists that night. For this point, he was the only rookie guard in NHL history in regular season and the only playoff record in NHL history, and won the 64-year-old playoffs and passed former Hambeth defender Chris Chelios (1984-85). Capital forward Dylan Strome opened the score for a few minutes in the middle frame. Canadian goalkeeper Jakub Dobes kicked Anthony Beauvillier’s rebound from Strome near the right, who returned home with the backhand. The score tied for two points with only 3:37 left in the third quarter, and Strome also fed Mangiapane. The capital’s forward wrist has rushed home from the slot, and Alexander Ovechkin is his choice through, potentially distracted by Dobes, who made 21 saves in 24 photos. Dobes started to get injured after the No. 3 match of No. 1 Sam Montembeault, similar to Thompson.

Duhaime added the first empty net goal with 2:39 left. Wilson ended with another score at 19:05 as the capital now hopes to end the series at 5pm Wednesday, back to Washington.
