According to a new report, a former Premier League manager is interested in taking over the Rangers and is now waiting for a call from the club hierarchy.
Wanderers slip away again, Celtics claim Scottish Premier League title
When rival Celtics won the Scottish Premier League title for the fourth straight time and ranked 13th in 14 seasons, it was a weekend forgotten, and Gers fell into another draw.

On the Celtic title, he added: “It will be painful for my staff, it will be painful for supporters. I hope it will be painful for my players. Because you are in the Rangers, we need to start being challenging, properly challenging, challenging for the trophy.”
Martin “interested” Ranger Move
While Ferguson is undoubtedly an advancement from former boss Philippe Clement, he may not be in charge after the end of the season – meaning the GERS and the 49ers will need to find a new guy to pursue Ibrox.
According to Scottish Suns, the man may be former Southampton boss Russell Martin. Martin was fired by the Saints in a disastrous Premier League campaign, ending with a relegation. However, he is the target of Rangers Ferguson’s takeover.
The Sun reported that Martin was very interested in the work and was just waiting for the call from the club hierarchy to fill the position.
Despite Martin’s poor record in Southampton, he received enthusiastic praise from one of the game’s greatest managers – Manchester City boss Guardiola.
Speaking after Manchester City beat Southampton 1-0 in October, Guardiola said: “Learning as a manager is a good game. I will learn a lot with Russell because they are really good.”
How Guardiola sets Southampton on that day: “They are really good. I’m a spectator. I prefer the players to put the ball on the feet, not the teeth.
“When I see opponents doing what I like to do with the team, they do well and I appreciate it. I’m sure I’ll learn it; there are some moves, the reasons they do things, the actions they do to link to the striker. It’s not easy.”
